Praying with Angels

Can we really communicate with angels? I believe the more open you are to the possibility of angelic contact, the more likely you will be to experience the joy and exhilaration of these remarkable manifestations. You need to be alert, open and ready to experience angelic contact.

I am sometimes asked why angels are so willing to help us. All we need do is ask for help, when it is required, and God and his angels will come to our aid. All you need do is ask, have faith, and a response will come. It may not happen in exactly the shape or form you desired. Sometimes you will experience help in the form of a dream that helps to clarify the situation. On another occasion, a series of apparent coincidences will ensure the right outcome. God works in mysterious ways.

In Psalm 91:11-15, David gave a beautiful explanation of why angels are willing to help us: “For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone. Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet. Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name. He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.”

Yes, angels are happy to communicate with anyone. It makes no difference what religion, if any, you may belong to. You can ask for divine help any time you need it. The only requirement is your faith in the universal life force.

I am also frequently asked: “How will I know if a feeling or message comes from an angel?” This is a difficult question to answer. Sometimes you will experience a definite sense of knowing. It might be an intuition or gut feeling, or a knowledge that everything will turn out the way it should. Most of the time we don’t question where our feelings come from. Every now and again, ask yourself if a certain intuition has come from an angel, and then wait for a response. Frequently, you will find it is an angelic message. I believe that most, if not all, intuitive flashes are angelic messages. Sometimes it’s impossible to answer. If the desired outcome has been achieved through an extraordinary series of coincidences, or serendipity is involved, you can assume that angels have orchestrated the result, but will never be able to prove it. The best response is to accept the outcome with gratitude, and give thanks to the angelic kingdom.

Some people consider it idolatrous to pray to angels, rather than directly to God. However, no less a person than Pope Pius XI (1857 – 1939) prayed to his guardian angel twice every day. He told a group of visitors that whenever he had to speak to someone who he thought might not accept his ideas, he asked his guardian angel to speak to the other person’s guardian angel first. The two guardian angels invariably came to an understanding that allowed the meeting to proceed without any difficulty.

Way back in the fourth century, Ambrose (339–397), an early church father, wrote: “We should pray to the angels who are given to us as guardians.” When you pray to an angel you are not worshiping them. You are simply asking the angel to intercede on your behalf. In actuality, you are praying with an angel, who will then deliver the prayer. I consider angels to be part of the universal mind. Consequently, when I pray to an angel, I am, in a sense, praying to God. This may sound confusing. Why not pray directly to God, rather than to an underling? I do, in fact, pray directly to God, too. Who I pray to depends entirely on the prayer.

In this book you'll learn the role of guardian angels, zodiac angels, elemental angels and others. You'll learn prayers for healing, protection and abundance. You'll also be able to participate in meditations and practical exercises to help you develop angel awareness.
